Stolen!!

I had the initial consultation appt. today for lasik eye surgery. Just wondering if anyone has had some bad experiences? I would also like to hear about good experiences ;) After I have it done, the only glasses I will need will be:cool:

Thanks for any input.

Couldn't be happier

I couldn't be happier with my LASIK surgery. The whole process only took about 15 minutes including prep time. I had it done in Wisconsin for 650 bucks an eye. Very reasonable if you ask me. I just had my three-month post op last week and I have better than 20/20 vision now. I was 20/50 nearsighted before the surgery. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Best money I have spent to date including my truck:D :D :D

Shoot me an e-mail or pm if you have any questions.

Had mine done 4. 5 yrs ago now. Still better than 20/20 both eyes. Personally know a dozen or more people who have had it done and no problems with any of them. This includes a preacher friend who was legally blind without glasses before the procedure. Best advice is research the clinic/doctor first and don't just look for the cheapest.

I don't have any personal bad experiences to relate. I had mine done in March and my vison is now 20/25. To me this is a fantastic. Prior to the surgery my vision was 20/900 in the left eye and 20/625 in my right. I am also old enought that I was warned that I may need reading glasses after the LASIK was performed. So far I can see well most of the time without reading glasses as long as there is enough light. I still have halos when driving at night, but they are no worse than the halos I have had all my life, caused by the thick glasses.

The problems I have heard of have all been the flap being cut incorrectly. In those cases the Dr. put the flap back down and waited 4 months to let the eye heal before redoing the LASIK proceedure on that eye.

I had my procedure done the third week of Jan. My vision was 20/650, but now it is better than 20/20. My vision still fluctuates slightly when I'm extremely tired (still probrably better than 20/25 or 20/30). I would do it again without hesitation. As previously stated, my experience with starbursts and halos was really no worse than with my thick glasses. Funny thing is, the hot Texas summer didn't seem as hot as it used to seem with those heavy glasses!

I have a friend who just went through Lasik about 3 months ago. She was extremely afraid of going through this procedure.

She said the whole procedure, both eyes, took a total of 15 minutes. No pain at all.

To tell you how well it went for her, she had the procedure done in the morning, and was driving in the afternoon. Now that is amazing if you ask me.

Since then the only problem, persay, that she has experienced is rings around automobile headlights at night. The doctor told her that would go away with time.

All, in all, it is an amazing procedure.

I am going to make arrangements to get my eyes done probably early spring.

Hope this helps.

another satisfied spouse

My wife had the LASIK surgery Jan 2001, and she is very happy. Started 20/70 and has been 20/20 since day one. The only thing she talks about is the need for eye drops when it's hot or late at night. I am surprised she is still with me after the vision correction, but i guess two kids, a new car, my magnetic personality (and my truck!) are strong bonds!

Love ya honey if you happen upon this!:D
