Not many 2002 left. Need everyones opinon on getting the last 2002 or waiting for 2003? Yes I like the sound and looks of 2002, but is it better to wait and get the extra power?Let loose and fire at me.

I decided to stick with the tried and true, so ordered and took delivery of my 2002 6 days ago. The 2003 are basically new from the ground up (about the only thing I know of which carried over is the manual trannys), and I did not want to pay $30K + and be DC's test pilot in finding all the bugs with the newly designed 2003 truck.

Oh yea, the "quite" diesel option did not appeal to me, thus the main reason I bought a new truck a few years sooner than anticipated :p

The majority of new model trucks are just fine. I've worked in the auto dealer biz for a while and I don't see the problem. That's what a lemon law is for IF you happen to get one.

I would say go for the 2003. You'll get a bunch of new features and stuff that comes with a new model. The 2002's are really cut back on the standard features that Dodge used to give us on the previous years.

I bought my 2001. 5 in September of 2001, so they will still be around for a while. But your choices do start to get smaller the longer you wait. Got lucky, I found mine.

I like the look of the new 3500's, but am not too crazy aout the 2500. If I was looking for a 2500, it would be a 2002 for sure. 3500, not so sure, but probably the 2002. Like stated before, tried and true (with the exception of a few little bugs). I'm sure the new models will be good trucks though.

If tried and true is the criteria, go with a 93 1st gen. They've been improving it for 27 years (since they introduced the 1st gen chassis and body in1966). But tried and true doesn't really cut it. My 94 (1st year of 2nd gen) is far superior to my 1st gen in every respect except the bed and tailgate, and Mother MOPAR hasn't made ANY improvements in the bed and tailgate since 94. If I were in the position to buy (and I'm NOT!), I would be going with the 2003 to get all the improvements we've been criyng for since 1994! Oh yes, I just spent three days removing, repairing and reinstalling my AC evaporator. It was totally clogged with crud sucked in from outside and up from the carpet. The new filtered AC unit is reason enough to go for the 2003 over the 2002!:D
