2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Later factory CD in '96?

My brothers '96 needs a stereo, he would like a factory unit with CD. What years will fit? There are quite a few from other models on Ebay, what other mopars use the same stereo?

i installed a cd head unit from a 02 durango in my 96 with a couple plug in adaptors and some cutting and shaping, it's the later rounded style but actually fits in pretty good, i think i can upgrade from this to a rb1 nav unit with little difficulty other then the high cost

the pictures kinda suck it actually looks good in the dash, i can't remember the model of this unit but theres a fair amount of them on ebay, along with earlyer models that fit without cutting

There are many aftermarket options that also play MP3's. Some have an auxillary input for Ipod or other similar device. Try www.crutchfield.com

My brother just got this truck a few weeks ago and we are about burned out working on it, just want something that looks nice and is inexpensive and easy to keep his wife happy

After the front main seal, track bar, 5th gear nut, setting the timing and finding a dealer had replaced the 215hp pump with a 175hp pump, then finding the head gasket leaking on its first trip, and now a bad injector discovered when we tried to put the head on we're ready to quit working and drive it :-laf
