Is it just me or is anyone else totally confused, disappointed, etc. , etc. , by the latest transmission thread!!!!

I'm damn glad I have a 6-speed and I am trying to talk my wife out of an auto for her 03 next year!!!!

Must be the exposure to transmission fluid that makes everyone mean and nasty!!!!!!!!!!!

Bob

Yeah, transmission threads are almost as nasty as clutch threads:confused: Bottom line, people get upset when they dont get what they pay for or products are mis-represented to them.

Give me a break.

Have you seen an ATS statement after the transmission is built? The bill is VERY detailed, and it lists the work performed and the parts installed. If anyone feels like they didnt get what they paid for, I suggest they look at the receipt. They are not going to lie to you. The bill of sale is a legal document that puts in writing the work performed, and it's all in there if you take the time to read it.

How could you feel like you got taken advantage of when they gave you a written document of the work performed?

BRobertson,

I agree on your comments of the latest transmission thread. It is a little disheartening that they seem so negative.

But here's the way I look at it. On one hand this is what freedom of speech is all about. And it's good that folks are willing to share their experiences. On the other hand, I'm hoping that the motivation for their sharing is to help us and not just to bash a vendor they feel robbed them. I know expressing your experiences can be difficult without emotions - especially if you feel you have been screwed. BTDT

I have to give credit to Clint of ATS. His response was carefully crafted and attempted to address the issues that were brought up. Clint must have spent considerable time and effort in his response which says a lot about him and his company.

My feeling is that no matter who makes a product - sometime, somewhere the product is going to have problems. Its how the vendor handles the problem after that - that's what is important.

Soooo in many ways these threads are valuable. But I understand your comments about the negativity.

Bill

That thread has been locked. Both sides have told their stories and let's leave it at that. Further comment is not necessary and will be promptly removed.
