Well I just got the latest issue of diesel power magazine and have to laugh. It seems that the editor, Carl Calvert is shocked at truck owners brand loyalty. He devotes a full page about how he was, "unprepared" for the feedback to the Ford Frenzy issue. " What I was unprepared for was the severity of the backlash, naturally from non-ford guys. Dodge Cummins owners in particular, were quick to browbeat me for leaving out their venerable Ram trucks. How could I, they stabbed with indignation, build almost an entire issue with the "inferior" Ford product". (At least he was right with the last dig on Fords
I can't believe that a magazine editor that has been editing automotive and truck-related publications for nearly 15 years is shocked at the brand loyalty. I mean this isn't something new it's been around as long as there was the second manufacturer on the market. I mean it might go back to Og and Grog and their preference to Grunt's wheels and Argh's wheels. I did get published on 18 for my input on the issue problems and no where did I mention Cummins. I hope that they start actually listening to their readers and get the publication back on track doing articles on real world trucks and not just show trucks at make up . 5% of the owners.
