Any idea why it increased? A couple increased an order of magnitude...

I just recently ordered a frantz tp bypass, but here are my results with a fleetguard stratapore and amsoil at 5200 miles. I was looking to get a baseline before I installed the tp unit. Blackstone said the sample was clean for an engine oil.

I am still questioning on when to change the oil other than by watching the TBN, which was 9. 4 in this sample. What do you think? One last thing the oil is still the old CI-4 and not the newly labled CJ-4 rotella.
05mxdiesel said:Thanks Gary, I will probably change the oil close to 20k regardless of tbn. My number's were pretty close to your last. I would like to get my iron numbers like yours as well. I'm finally breaking into the high teens with 40k on my truck.
Wanyne, after switching out the Amsoil to rotella I had no problems with blowing oil out the crankcase breather. I still wonder what caused the amsoil to do this with returning the oil to the valve cap. The frantz that I have has the built-in restrictor, so I don't think flow is the problem. My thinking is how much better the Amsoil flows compared to rotella dino and tends to splatter over the valvetrain and ends up out the breather. That's my thinking but I would like to go back to running Amsoil HDD 15w40. Give me you opinion. Thanks
