They wouldn't do it when I got my SCR replaced. Even though they had to do flashes for the SCR. Dealers suck down here

There were a couple of optional updates in January that they said they would do for $35-40 each.

I decided to be cheap and not do them. They said they were just new versions of software like your cell phone.

You have extended Warranty Right? Go in and complain about shift characteristics, and grid heater go's off immediately, and cruise control surges that outa work. sinks in cab will diffidently get"er done

I had these done on my 2015 back in January. I believe the third one and the last one fixed the hunting between gears on small hills.

The flash that goes into your truck will be the latest one available. The tech does not choose the version with one exception-when you had to choose with or w/put sensors in the scr.Next time you go into the dealer give them the labor op for the new tsb and ask them to run it.They will get a report that will tell you if it is a covered repair or not and also show which it,warranty or service contract

Ok. Thanks for the info. When I had the SCR done in January 2017, they did the SCR software update.

Before i left when dropping off the truck, the service manager said rhere is an ABS flash/update that I could pay $33 for. I assume that is BCM (body control module), a IPC update (integrated power control), and a PCM (power control module) update. Each one would cost me $33 because I am out of 3/36 warranty.

Where do I find the labor OP? Is that listed on the TSB? Or on recall notice?

I'm wondering if the IPC and PCM were automatically updated witn the powertrain flash for the SCR?????

There was a policy change last month concerning flashes. There are now essential flashes that have to be done if the vehicle is in for service, and non-essential that can only be done under warranty if the customer specifically complains about the concern. So read between the lines if you want them covered.

The first time my truck went to the dealer for the 1st free oil change, I complained specifically about the hard 5-4 downshift when coasting. Was told it's normal. It appears that it's now one of the items listed in TSB 21-004-16 TCM. I've got to bring mine in for its last free oil change in June. I'm going to make sure they install it. Hopefully there won't be any unwanted side affects. It shifts up and down fantastic when accelerating or maintaining on hills or flat.
