I've read all those, I'm hoping to get some ideas before I take my truck in in Monday. They want to remove and dissasemble my trany. I am convinced it's not a trany problem

My truck had launch shudder when it was new. The shudder was gone within about 2k miles or so. I can't remember for sure but it did shudder when I first got it. I now have 23k on it and it is working very well.

If it were me I would wait and see. Thats my 2 cents.

Hope this helps.

DO NOT let them touch the transmission, tell them to read the TSB's on launch shudder. Like so many dealers, there seems to be a very high level of low knowledge

I am also complaining about this launch shudder problem, I noticed it after rear axle was replaced due to vibration, and the dealer insists that is it normal operation of this new "torsen" differential, but after reading all these other complaints, I will be talking to him tommorrow regarding this TSB. My symptoms are the same as what everyone else is describing, worse under heavy load etc. . Hopefully it will be resolved, it's very annoying, feels like the axle is coming apart sometimes.

What do you mean launch shudder at acceleration ? mine stumbles when I accelerate. Let off it goes away. I don't feel it if I floor it.

Vibrates like something is bent up to 15mph, much much worse if heavy load or pulling, lots of CTD owners with this problem as reported on this site. Some have had centre bearing realigned, some with bad u-joints. Bad u-joints seem pretty common if you work the truck & do not spend all your time on the pavement.

If you are refering to the TSB where the angle of the drivelines are increased/decreased, it doesn't work. Had it done on Friday and it's worse plus I picked up vibrations at 50,60,and 70 mph. I started with two seperate problems, launch shudder and the now famous 70-72 mph vibration. The latter was fixed by replacing the rear driveline and had no more high spped vibrations until Friday. Monday I'm headed back to dealer to go back to original driveline angle, rotate balance tires and what ever else to try and lessen the launch shudder. I was also informed that DCX are aware they have a problem and working on it. I rode in another new 04. 5 today that just came out of shop with new rear drivline and at 70 mph the vibration is still there, plus launch shudder to boot. Talk about an un-happy camper.

LOL... . they told me that a year and a half ago... they are lying to avoid buyback on fix attempts. They are supposed to get in touch when a solution is available. Ain't happening. I think they are banking on people either putting up with it or trade/selling. GM also had a lot of driveline vibe issues with the Dmax.

I had the 65-70 vibe. Mines almost gone after adding the 35" H2 wheels and tires.

The launce shudders that i have experienced on newer vehicles have all been related to pinion angle/driveline angle

I had both the launch shudder and the driveline vibration. The launch shudder was almost completely eliminated with the pinion angle/driveline angle TSB. The driveline vibration ( 70-75mph) was fixed with a new front driveshaft.
