Actually, 01HO does not take off in third. I am going to let you guys in on his secret. He takes off in sixth and slips the cluth all the way down the track in order to keep the motor in the "sweet" spot. :-laf :-laf
ROFLMAO!! They have a fun night every Friday night. $10. 00 for as many passes as you want to make. Saturday night is regular race night. Go to www.ozarkdragstrip.com for a schedule. And if you come down please let me know ahead of time.
I am waiting to see where I may be going with the next trailer, but if I am in the area Friday night, I will go. I could use a place to swap injectors. What kind of ferds would I be up against?
I don't think 01HO will be racing any time soon, those sixth gear launches took their toll on the clutch. I guess that is the price you pay for whipping Vetts.
My place isn't far from the track and you are welcome to swap injectors there but I don't have a shop built yet. I've been trying to get fences fixed and other things straightend out as we are wanting to start boarding horses and mules for people and giving lessons etc... . They don't have a large group of Fords that show at any one time. The track owner is a Stroke fan and occasionally 1 shows up that isn't stock. They do run a truck SS class that runs off of a 13. 50 index on Friday nights as well as SS classes for 11. 50, 12. 50, 13. 50 and 14. 5 vehicles. They have to be street legal late model vehicles and be on street tires. I'm not sure why they made a truck class when they have a 13. 5 class but if you look at the results on the webpage you can see what it would take to win that heads-up class and a trophy.
I will make it down there soon. My daily driver/dragracer/sledpuller is down right now but I hope to see it back on the road in a few weeks.
If everything works out I'll bring a crew of trucks with Matt and myself. It would be nice to finally meet you mcoleman.
Oh ya, I ran the 13. 3 before I had fuel system, stage three head (done by 78repowerwagon) and a PDR Hot Rod vp44. I'm hoping to see some better numbers. 12's would be sweeeet.
Your more than welcome to come down for hunting season 01. I think I had told you before that I live in the Mark Twain National Forest. We have decided to open up a business and take advantage of our location. A few of the local pulls around here are allowing diesels in the stock classes. Your truck is stock right. A friend of mine is active in the pulls with a 454 Chevy in the stock classes so I can find out when most of the pulls are ahead of time through him or his Dad.
I plan to be there to race this weekend. I have a trailer going to Coleman Arkansas, and should be able to deliver it and have time to change injectors. Can you go?
Sure, What time are you planning on getting back from Arkansas? The track isn't very far from my Farm. I'll PM you with my work number and Home number. I'm usually home by 4:15 pm in the afternoon.
Matt, Glad you guys came down. We had a good time Friday night and watching you run 13. 27 at 102 + mph was even better. especially with the fifth wheel hitch, tool box, and the hula skirt swinging from the back bumper. You had more weight in the bed than some of the imports weigh to begin with. And I know a couple of Mustang and Camaro owners that won't soon forget that blue truck. That guys standing up by the tower were all doing the :--) . :-laf :-laf
Thanks for inviting us down, I (obviously) had a good time. I think I will start carring the camera in the truck so I can take pics of the suprised other driver when they go by.
