I'm launching a new business building and selling custom poker tables. Looking for input/ideas from people so I can as successful as possible and figured I'd submit it to the TDR braintrust :D . I threw the website together in the last couple of weeks so it's a work in progress. Any recommendations on the site or on the products would be greatly appreciated. Check it out please - http://www.DeluxePokerTables.com .

Steve I just got back from vegas and saw two companies that do just that sorta thing. Man I was just plain wowed at some of the stuff they do. The funny thing is I HAD to stop by this place in the Belaggio (Ugh bad spelling) to snap this for YOU!!

Are you a paying advertiser? Doesnt this break TDR rules?

Ha, just giving you a hard time, what are they going to sell for? Looks pretty nice!

Erik

Pricing is on the tables page. If I discussed that here I would be breaking the rules ;) . I don't even know if I'll be shipping them yet (working on that still). I'm just looking for input so I can improve.

I looked that up Tim - was afraid it would be a cross dressing sideshow or something. It's a perfume - Rive Gauche means "left bank". I wish I had just a smidgen of Yves money!

Steve,

I love them, but I think that there needs to be some changes to the legs of the table. I like the lighted ones, and think you could make some cool LED options. Final thing would be to learn to put logo's on there.

they look awsome though!! Wish I had the room for one. :D

Get a few on EBAY and see how far they go up in price. These are not something that you find everyday. I would think they would sell fast.

I had to laugh at the member above asking where the TDR logo is... ... maybe you could make one with the logo being centered on the table. now that would be COOL... .

Constructive criticism - please don't take this personally!:

Hide the lights a little better or make it an option to hide the lights. I dig the illumination, but I wouldn't want to see the actual rope lights. In my opinion, with this type of application the effects of lighting should be the seen... not the fixtures.

If illuminated, have an option to include a dimmer with the lights.

Have an option for permanently fastened legs. The folding legs are sweet for Stow-n-Go, but for a table that's up all the time... they shout out 'cheesy'.

Other than these nit-picky things, they look very nice Steve!

Excellent idea Steve! The lights and padding make them very classy looking. I agree with Matt on the legs, mabye an option for solid wood legs or an enclosed base with storage for chips and cards. A crescent or half moon shape would be cool as another style.

Good luke Steve, I hope you make a ton-o-money!

Thanks for the comments Matt - that's what I'm looking for. I considered a dimmer but I've had two tournaments on the table (30 guys total) and noone thought there was a need for a dimmer - that the lighting level was just right. When seated you really don't see most of the lights. The lights in front of you are hdiden by the bumper. The problem with hiding the lights completely is then I'd have to raise the height of the bumper and I've played on tables with thicker bumpers and didn't like it at all. Everyone who's played on the table thus far loved the lights - they look different in person than you can capture in a photo. I've been planning on offering fixed legs as an option and am currently researching them. I found these yesterday at a cost of around $375. Will be researching further:

We have that same wood base on our tile topped expandable dining room table. It takes 2 men to put the top on the base, and when it's on the table is very stable.

Oh, OK... that explains it. Would this be a parallax or just a plain old optical illusion? :)

Here's a thought... could you make the legs with a steel structure and come up with some sort of fancy way to cover them with wood? OR, just make steel legs with some sort of wrought iron look to 'em. OR, cover the steel leg structure with diamond plate!
