My dually weighs 8,040 pounds with my topper. . It normally does 2. 0 60' times with a best of 1. 96. I decided to try the torque management delete Crazy Larry program and broke my output shaft on the first run. I now have a billet input and output. I should have but didn't get the intermediate. Can I safely do hard launches without breaking the intermediate. It runs 13. 4's with a 2. 0 60' with the TM delete on. . I'd really like to try turning the TM delete off and shoot for a 1. 8 60' to get my ET closer to the 12. 99 number. . Does anyone with a fairly heavy truck have experience on when the intermediate will break? I've had billet shafts for a long time, though I've just been scared to break it again. . I was hoping to find others that are launching hard and going faster with trucks that are just as heavy or heavier and see if they are breaking. Thanks. .

I can't help you much since I'm not that heavy and have a billet intermediate...
I say go for it. When I was talking to transmission companies they all told me that the intermediate can take ALOT of abuse. I just wanted the piece of mind. (if there is such a thing)

I've tried to keep my dually very basic. I have always wanted to see a 12. 99 on the board to say my tow truck runs 12's... 
If I lost the camper shell, I'd say I'd go just a little quicker as well. . I'm also just running a PS62. . I thought about upgrading to the silver bullet. I don't know how much it would help though.

I don't know how much it would help though.i would at least up grade to a super. if for no other reason than to loose some heat and drive pressure. the thing that broke my output shaft was locking the convertor too early so make sure it stays unlocked for at least the 60ft. That way the convertor can absorb some of the shock of the hard launches and hard shifts. by the way i saw you on tdi forum poking around how goes the tdi build anyways?
I don't have a switch to lock the converter on the dually.
The bug. . I've collected a lot of parts for it. . When the turbos get here, I'll have most everything to start the install. . I ordered a VNT17/22 hybrid six weeks ago, then decided to go with the new VNT20 kit. So the 20 kit has been sent and scheduled for delivery friday. I traded the hybrid for the install labor of all the other parts. . So far I have Race injectors, Spec stage three clutch with single mass flywheel, headstuds, race pipe, intake, exhaust, gauges with center pod, boost valve, carbon fiber hood, lots of new lines, etc. . Kind of like I want the dually to run 12. 99, I want the bug to go 13. 99 or better. . We'll see what happens. .

1. 77 was my best usually around 1. 8x. but i have a lighter truck. so im sure thats how i could get my "better" 60' with stock output. i was launching at 20psi, if i was you i'd dare push 30.
deffinatly use the water meth. hehe i don't think if you had enough fuel to light the BB you would have a tow truck anymore
