???Lawn tractor question ???

My Dad gave me his old lawn tractor. It's a 92 18hp Dynamark.

Shortly after me getting it the drive belt for the deck jumps off. It keeps on doing this.

He just replaced the blades a few months ago, and last year he did the bearings on the deck.

I bought new belts. No different. Adjusted the spring a little tighter for better belt engagement (sp?) Same. I checked for end play on the deck bearings, all seem tight.

Any ideas? The pulleys all seem true.

Alignment problem? Bent pulleys? Deck bent a little where the bearings are mounted to the deck as to cause the pulley to be not quite sqaure to cause the belt to run off the pulley?

When the bearing were replaced, did the towers the pulleys are mounted on have to be removed? If so, is it possible that they are reversed. Maybe they are not both the same height and if they are reversed it would cause the belt path to not be straight.

On my JD it's possible to put the belt on the wrong side of an idler and have it still fit, comes off as soon as you start it spinning though.

Eric, need to check the allignment of the sheivs with a straight edge, one could have a slight angle to it allowing the belt to creep and climb off, put the straight edge on the face of the sheive and then check other end to see if it is close then go to other sheiv and do the same, it doesnt take much to wack it out. My guess is one sheiv is slid on the shaft too far.
