fax through cell phone?

I have a Yardman (MTD) pushmower with a 6 hp engine. I hit a large sized rock and it bent the crankshaft. It didn't want to start after this so I replaced the crankshaft and blade and now it will not start. There is a lot of resistance at times when pulling the rope. I'm at nerves end with the thing... . Any clues. Thanks gang.

Crankshaft to Camshaft timing? Did you align the teeth when installing the new crank?

Replaced keyway on flywheel?

Are you getting spark?

Is it getting fuel?

Sounds to me like the connecting rod cap might be backwards or too tight.

If you bent the crank, you should have replaced the pan and lower seal. Most times the pan gets screwed when a crank gets bent. You'll know after a few mowings and have a puddle of oil under it. Also should have replaced the flywheel key, they shear pretty easy!

Like someone said also, check the cam and crank position. Should be two marks on the gears.

How does it feel without the spark plug in (pulling it over)??

It is more like compression resistance. I put everything back together correctly. Its getting both fuel and a spark, I even replace the coil thinking maybe that was it. I'll probably tear it back down again and take a look inside. Thanks for writing gang.
