Anyway: 1/27/10 class action suit filed in South Carolina against Chrysler LLC for '07-'09 6. 7's
main point being: exhaust system is permenently defective because it fails to effectively rid itself of diesel particulates through regen process, causing soot to accumulate in the dpf, turbo, egr, o2 senosrs etc and requires those parts to be regularly replaced, repaired, or cleaned... . so via warranty there is permanent defects yada yada yada
defendant claimed that '07 6. 7L had fuel savings of 20-40%; in '07 price of diesel option increased $495 to $6100 and ultra clean diesel system charge $995
defects in exhaust can't be repaired or remedied through repairs, replacements, or adjustments... dealers repeatedly told purchasers "after their purchase" to change their driving habits by driving with exhaust brake on, driving very hard on highway, avoiding idle time... change in driving habits does notg remedy the inherent and permanent exhaust system defects... . owners will be required to expend significant sums of money after their warranties expire to repair, replace, adjust, clean dpf, turbo, egr, sensors etc... purchasers could no have discovered defect through reasonable inspection at time of purchase... . vehicles resale value hurt big time... ...
