Trailer Wanted

While on vacation last week in Lakeland FL, i took a trip to camping world by Tampa. Man, what a place. IT had 1000`s of RV`s. All kinds. When i got back to the campground i asked some fulltimers about it and said there prices were to high. The place was so big that they had golf carts to take you around in.

We live in Tucson and Beaudry RV claims to be the largest RV dealer west of the Miss. They say there is only one dealer that is bigger, and it's in FL. That must be the one you were at. Beaudry RV has a resturant, RV resort, Camping World, large service center, etc. The RV resort has some camping spots with individual hot tubs at each site. They also use golf carts to show their products.

I was at Laydays also. Supposed to be the worlds largest RV dealer from what I heard. Went there with my grandpa this past winter when we went down. You are right, that place is HUGE.

I thought the prices were awful high myself. The prices on the FL60/70's were crazy. You can by a NEW Freightliner Classic XL Class 8 tractor for what they wanted for the used camper toters. Sure they were nice, but dang! On the ones I saw they wanted over 100k for most of them. Out of the dozen or so I saw, most had a 250hp 3126 Cat. The others had the 300hp. version. My grandpa said they have something like 300 salesmen there.

The huge motor coaches were neat. Won't ever buy one though.

I buy a lot of there trade ins. Great folks to deal with. No hassle. Picked out 4 diesel pushers, told them what I would give, missed them $5,000, rearraigned my numbers, wrote them a check and was outa there... ..... It is big. Ran the golf cart out gas in 2 days just looking. Drove the cart over to the Flying "J" for gas and we were off and running again. They comp. us RV spots in their resort. It is NICE!

Bate's RV is another place @ exit #14 right at Lazydays. The have 600 on their lot. Not as big, but just another place that is right there also.

I bought at Bate's, MUCH better prices, and willing to deal much more.

A few $1k here, a few $1k there, and pretty soon you have real money, lol.

A couple years ago my dad and I were looking at a 95 Royals International fifth wheel at Lazy Days. The trailer was in good shape but over priced. But the bad thing was when the salesman said that Lazy Days said could not deliver the trailer on Lazy Days property because my dad did not have enough truck to pull the trailer. The salesman said that Lazy Days would be more than happy to deliver the trailer off Lazy Days' property. One thing this idiot salesman did not know or understand is that my dad is a full time RV'er on his third Royals International with over 200k towing miles under his belt. My dad's truck as well mine is putting out over 300 HP, 550 LBS of torque at the rears, we showed this idiot the dyno sheets. We continued to tell this "salesman" that these trucks are set up for one thing and one thing only and that's to tow our fifth wheels. This "salesman" hadn't towed one mile and is telling us how its done. Outrageous. I wouldn't buy a ham sandwich from Lazy Days.

Actually, I can respect an RV dealer who will not sell a 5th wheel or TT that would exceed the GVWR or GCWR of the tow vehicle. There are too many that would sell a 42' Teton to the guy who drove in with an F-150!
