I just bought a 6 gallon bucket of the Lubrication Engineers 8800 15W-40 oil. Does the engine need to reach a certain break in period before using this engine oil? Also, are there any adapters or something for this
6 gal bucket? Cant imagine trying to hit a funnel with that, 5' above ground.

I am not familiar with the brand of oil you are talking about. I am guessing its Syntetic?. If so, you should not switch to Synthetic till about 15-20K on the engine, then Synthetics is fine.
As for the bucket adaptor, we use 1 or 3 quart lube buckets that have a spout on them. Just fill them up from your 5 gallon bucket and it makes refilling and counting quarts easy. You can find them at any heavy duty truck shop.

The LE is not a synthetic oil, as I'm sure you already know, but IMO I would wait until the magic break in number. I bought used so I'm not for sure, but I think it's around 10,000 miles.

The reason I feel to wait is because is the LE is as good as they say it is (less wear than Amsoil supposedly), it will not allow the rings to seat properly.

My $. 02,
Ryan
