Dodge Cummins Rv's?

Hey,Matt. The guy you mentioned first from Compuheat also sells metered 12 volt pumps at $156. 00. He has a heavy middle eastern accent [a little difficult to communicate but intereting to talk to] and does not deal by credit card, but he does have about any price point you want from a burner powered by a hair dryer on up to fully atomized units. Thanks for the heads up on HECO selling just the components I want. Maybe HECO has a 120 volt AC metered pump The Army surplus unit looks like a nice unit to tinker with as well.

My thoughts so far are to build a unit that is very easy to clean the coking from the vaporizer pan and make a unit that various pan designs can be interchanged. I am also thinking about making my first unit as a downdraft unit with access for cleaning from the top . This would also enable some experimentation with using the heater as a boiler by simply immersing the bottom of the unit in a water/antifreeze solution.

If all this experimental stuff works out,I could see converting an outside boiler to waste oil or building my own outside boiler as a supplemental unit to my existing propane boiler/ hot water heating system.

Metered pump prices

The HECO pump is $249. I told the HECO guy about the other pump for $156. It seems that they bought some from the first guy . These pumps from *****heat ran at a 1:1 ratio[too fast] and they were subject to cavitation, flameout and were hard to prime. To be fair, the HECO guy said he has gotten good pumps in the past from the first guy,but had to eat the cost of these poor pumps himself to make the customer happy. Since the first guy takes no credit cards,it seems possible that expecting warranty or return service on the cheaper pump could be a problem.

As for me,I am going to build the furnace and try to get a fire with gravity feed just to test it out and then definately use a metered pump from HECO if the project works out. The reason I censored the name of the first company is that I have no idea if he has resolved the issues with the cheaper pump
