Mine is also getting the drivers side only carpet wet. However I found mine coming in around the vent window at the bottom forward of the hinge. The way I found it was the water left a clean streak where it was running in and down the door. The truck set most of the summer outdoors and dust had collected on the sill beneath the window. Since I never open this window, I'm going to seal it with a small amount of clear RTV between the glass and seal. Unless someone trys to open it, it will never be seen.

Save it from rust!

Got the leaks of the First Gen vintage. This is what I've done: 1. Rear corners of cab-Fold a face towel into a narrow rectangle to fit area. Remove and replace when damp. 2. Front/footboard area, both sides between bottom of transmission hump and kick panel-Fold a bath towel into quarters, lay rectangle shape between kick panel and hump, then cover the towel with a rubber or plastic floor mat. The bottom of mat, (wider end) toward kick panel, top of mat toward the hump. This mat will sandwich on top to the towel and under the padding to protect the padding from moisture. Remove and replace when damp. This has worked for years in my truck. I have done all the repairs and remedies mentioned on this site. However, this is the only way I've kept my cab dry inside. It takes a little time and follow-up to change to dry towels but, it works:D

(I hope my explination is clear... ):-laf

Been back to Safelite basically 3 times this past week. #@$%! Each time they do something different, it leaks a different way... . so I have to think that it is with the window and not the goop on the roof. Think I'll go back with Petey's fix and see if they will do it that way. If you pull that front trim piece off, can you see the seam from the inside ? The one the goop up top supposedly seals .

Not really good. The goo needs to be on the outside so the water can't get to the bottom of the gasket. And it's almost impossible to squirt goo in around the gasket-to-body area with the window installed. I tried it, you just can't get in far enough with the upper drip rail.

I'm 90% sure on mine the water was going in at the top, and transitioning around to the inside as it went down the window post, then dripping out behind the dash and down the firewall. It was a SOB to find, but I got it.

Keep on their butt, they'll get sick of seeing you and do it right evenually. ;)

girlfriends 96 leaked onto floor when we had the windshield replaced. We called the guy back, when he got there he informed us that the drains were cloged under the wind shield grills? He cleaned them out and havent had another problem, but we sold that one and she drives my 01 srw. Hope this helps
