I have a combination pressure/temp sensor in this port on top of the oil filter housing and it "weeps" oil slightly no matter what I do!

I have tried thread sealer, teflon tape etc. to no avail.

I have been careful to not overtighten it (1/8 NPT pipe thread fitting) and I am at the point that I feel maybe I should take the oil filter mount off the engine and have the threads repaired (they look fine) or altered.

Is it easy to remove this oil filter mount from the engine or should I just live with the weeping oil?

I may put in a bypass filter later and, as I understand it, you often have top use this same port for the oil supply to the bypass filter so I really need to solve the leak problem.

Any help appreciated...

Oil Pressure Port Thread Type

The Westach sensor is 1/8 NPT. I had it in there for about a year before it started leaking... now it weeps.

Could vibration be "fretting" at the threads and causing slop in there somehow?

Possibly I need to get a fitting to "tee" into the block somewhere else like at the factory oil pressure sender?

I will try the permatex #2 and see what happens.

Thanks... I'll let you all know how it turns out!
