Help, leak from pump to fuel rail, w/ bio diesel

I all of the sudden have a leak from the pump to fuel rail, its comming from the fitting that goes into the fuel rail I believe, this just started using bio diesel.

Is this a coincidence or because of the bio diesel? I was using B100 but the tank was over 1/4 full with dino fuel.

So did this happened because of the bio diesel?

If or if not, how do I fix it?

(like a internal washer or so?)

I tried tightening the fitting going into the fuel rail, it but it still leaks. Worried to over tightening it.

Thanks for any suggestions. :)

Of course this had to happened now where the warranty ran out 3 weeks ago,

I would look real hard at #4 injector line, make sure it's not cracked and leaking onto the other connection, otherwise replace the line from the pump to the rail.

#4 is notorious for cracking, it's located right over the area where you have identified the leak. Inspect it while your truck is idling, pressure is around 5/7k, use a mirror if you have to, be careful, that pressure will penetrate your skin.

Look where the clamp (blue) holds the injector line.

To answer your other question, it's highly unlikely that the biodiesel caused this leak, so don't blame yourself. It's probably just a coincidence.

I think I got it fixed. After washing and checking, it looked like the front fitting to injector 1 to the front was loose. I tightened it and I have no more leaks as of now. So maybe that all that it was a loose fitting, I hope so!

Now one more question:

Is there less power with Bio fuel? I can't tell that I have less power, but my over head comp is telling me I am getting an avg of 11 mpg, where as before I would get 17 mpg.
I can run in the low 20's but now the best I get is 16 mpg!
Any thoughts?

Many thanks

ps. if anyone needs some repair pages I have the hole in pdf for 2005 and 2006

Check all of the jumper line support clamps the #4 and the #6 lines are known for cracking. You will know if/ when they crack the fuel is under very high pressure and it will spray all over the place like a fog. I had this happen on the highway on a trip to Fla. As for B100, I've been using it for over 5 years with out any problems. I would reccomend that you install the B20 filter kit if your not already using a better filter system than just the stock engine mounted filter. BioDiesel has less energy than DinoDiesel so you will get about 1-3 mpg less. One thing that I have found is that iif you use a mix B20 or B50 blend Dino/ Bio on long trips I've gotten better Mpg than on B100 or Dino 100 I'm not sure why it just seems to work that way every time. And I've been keeping track of my MPG on every tank since this truck was new. Back to those fuel jumpers, I had the chance to go to VolvoPenta Diesel school Volvo says to NOT RE USE the fuel jumpers any time you loosen them. Volvo engines use the same Bosch common rail system that our Cummin engine's use.
