I have had this truck along time and it has had a trans leak for a while now . I was under it the other day looking it over and it looks like its coming out of the filler tube where it enters the trans body . I never had the one way valve in the pressure line so if all that fluid drains back ,does the level go over the area where that O ring is and if the O ring is bad would it leak from there .I also see blow ups of the trans but only a mention of the O ring but doesn't say if its a regular O ring or something special . Its 96 Automatic .

It’s actually a little “top hat” looking seal, and yes, it will leak fluid. Mine leaked for a couple of years. I kept trying different pan gaskets and finally, someone smarter than me pointed out the dipstick tube seal.

They don’t show one for the ‘96 but this is it for my ‘98. Should work fine. $1.10 from RockAuto.

BigPapa I found the one for the 96 and its just an O ring for a whole 19 cents .I wonder if this one you show would work and maybe its a newer design ?
