How many of y'all have developed a leak in the real diff cover? I haven't noticed a drop in fluid level, but the botom of the pumpkin is dark with the leaking fluid. Looks like it's Mag-Hytec time.

Look Around

About 90% of all trucks have this seepage. I actualy consider it normal(and I don't work for DC lol) and don't worry about it. Next time you wash it just spray it with the soap. And do it again a month or so later

Mine doesn't really count.....

At 2500 miles on the truck I traded someone my 4:10 for 3:54's.

A very reputable rear end shop here did the work. Now I don't have to worry about DC's work:)

not a drop!

No drips, weeps or anything else with my Mag-Hytec diff. cover. In fact, it seals so well there is light rust on the differential because there is no oily residue to "protect" it. :D

Ditto what John said. That Maghytec cover is awesome and that o ring they use sure seems to do the job.

20K+ miles with a Mag-Hytec rear cover. No leaks... Now that I've said that I hope one doesn't appear.

I followed the directions, spent 5 minutes makeing sure all the burrs were gonne from the stampings. Filled in the stampings with black gasket maker/rtv , as per the directions...

It's been great ...

Front stock cover as been fine too.

Mine developed a leak in about 5K miles; never seemed to lose much. But it would make a little "deposit" on my garage floor from time to time, and ANY drip from my vehicles is flat unacceptable. Mag-Hytec, without having to RTV, but with just a little de-burring, and Amsoil and it's been pristine! I'm really looking forward to Mag-Hytec's front diff cover...
