We're in Florida at present with the travel trailer. Tomorrow morning we set off for the 1500 miles to MN to visit with the family, and then we fly back from MN to the UK and home. So its about 5500 miles in all to get back to Cornwall, where the Spring flowers should be starting to bloom. I'll leave the truck in MN, after giving it a week of TLC.

I did this job today, cleaning up the injectors and wells, and replacing all the copper gaskets. There were a couple of minor snags that came up. The return line to the filter has a welded tab for a securing bolt, close to the filter. This tab prevented the removal of the return line. There was a thick wire loom above it, which I couldn't easily remove, and the tab wouldn't pass between the valve covers. In the end I tied the return line assembly up to the hood, and worked round it. This wasn't ideal. How do experienced mechanics deal with this? The second curve ball was that the copper washers were stuck hard on the ends of the injectors. I managed to remove them with a thin bladed craft knife worked round the circumference. They didn't come off without a struggle and a few broken blades. Just reported for information.
