Over the past 2 weeks I have experienced two serious fluid line leaks on my '02 2500 TD with 54K miles. The first was from the fittings on the low pressure lines connecting to the Injector Pump. After blowing fuel all over the side of the engine and down under the truck my friends at Cummins NW in Renton WA help me locate and tighten all the fittings stopping the leaks. Next a week later the trany cooler lines ruptured at the bottom of the cooler. Apparently the cooler had been installed at the factory with the lines resting on the frame member and vibrations from the engine had worn holes through the lines. It required replacing the entire cooler, which was done for me by Dodge of Monroe on very short notice. Both experiences turned out to be rather costly so I would suggest to prevent this from happening to you it would be wise to check these lines as part of your regular service. A case where preventative inspections could save you a large chunk of change.
