I have had to replace the rubber o-ring on the mounting braket between the power steering pump and the vacume pump too many times. Has anyone had this same problem. It will hold up for about two months and the it will start pouring oil out again. I have tried to go to Cummins for the factory o-ring but they do not have #'s.

One of the common causes of your kind of failure's is the wear on your vacuum pump and/or PS pump.

If one is going out or has too much play it will take the seal out, then the other pump.

My brother went thru 8 PS pumps until they finally listened to us and replaced the vacuum pump... finally... PS pump number ***9*** and no more problems...

Do you have any sign of leakage or problems with the PS or vacuum unit?? Are you loosing any fluid or experiencing any loss of vacuum??

Those are the items I'd look at as a possible source of your problem.

pastor bob... . :(

I am not losing any fuild except oil. Everytime I change the o-ring I have to force the braket into the vacume housing; so I know it is not wore out.
