I've been reading through some of the posts regarding leaking transfer cases and transmissions but I haven't come across a situation I've had here recently. My transfer case leaks where the two halves bolt together. I noticed it since there was fluid all over the bottom of my truck. I'm not really sure what the problem is but I'm certain it's no hoses or cooler lines, no driveshaft seals or yolk seals. This is actually the second transfer case to which this has happened. The dealer replaced the 1st one back in February. Now it's happening again and they currently have some parts on order. I'm not getting a straight answer from these guys at the dealer. Has anyone run into this situation before? What concerns me is that I'm out of warranty on the drivetrain in about 8,000 miles and I just want to be sure it's fixed.

Thanks,

Erik

This is from what the shop manager at the local DC dealership told me about the transmission/t-case sealing area.

Each one has it's own seal. The only way to tell which one is leaking is to check both fluids (transmission and t-case).

YOu got sccammed, they told you they replaced it but really they only tightened the **** out of the bolts to make it stop leaking, take it back and see if they want to do it again.
