Leaks?

Apologies, I posted this in 4th Gen Forum and was told this is the correct place to throw out this question.



Is anybody have a problem with leaks on their 2010 yet? I climbed under there last night just to have a look around and found a something, not sure what it is, accumulating around the bell housing. I cleaned it all off really well and drove her to work this morning. When I got to the office I had a look and the drips were back (it's not dripping to the ground, just accumulating). It's not red like trans fluid, it's more green or yellow (but it's not antifreeze) and not coming from up above. It's like it's coming from inside the transmission.



Any thoughts?



Should I just leave it alone, is this normal?

i have a 7. 5 3500 srw with a 6. 7... . i had oil residue between the engine and trans, took it in for warrenty and had remain seal going... fixed and ok now..... now i have some rear diff fluid around pinion area

Well I climbed under her again on Sat morning and had another look at it. I removed the inspection plate (the metal plate on the bottom of the trans held on by three screws) and there was no trans fluid anyplace. It seemed to be thicker and stickier than new motor almost like heavy gear oil. So I cleaned it off really well and took her for a 50 mile drive and it's all clean now. I'm thinking it was an oil or coating they used to coat all the parts of the trans during manufacturing and the heat is causing it to tome off.

On the same note-- I have smelt a burning smell sometimes after shutting down my truck. was thinking it was just the exhaust burning off, possibly due to a regeneration event, I have 3600 on the odo so far... I looked underneath and couldnt find anything visibly burnt. . duno

I still smell it every so often. I dont drive her too hard... usually. heh

No leaks to speak of yet.
