Guys and gals I need your help.

I have a very persistant leak in my cab... . I think it's comming from the cargo light that's mounted on the cab.

The mounting gasket is shot on top... . and there is no gasket listed in the stealer's books.

I tried silicone a couple of times and some sticky gasket stuff on a roll that my son has in his repair shop... but it still leaks. Pees me off because it gets my seat belt wet from dripping dowm from behind the cab metal.

Anybody know where I gan get a gasket without having to spend $80 for a complete unit?

Feel free to reply to -- email address removed --

Thanks.

The local parts store should sell gasket material in bulk. If you get a thick cork or rubber sheet I would think that you could cut your own gasket

try air vents

No it's not the air vents... . it's comming from up high somewhere ... I can see it drip down in the corner of the cab when I do the hose test. ... and the only culprit possible appears to be the cargo light.

Sealer on the screws??? I have sealer on everything imaginable up there.

I guess it's time to take it all apart, clean it, and start all over.

Maybe the third time's a charm??? Keep your fingers crossed for me.

JLEONARD,

Another possibility for the leak could be the rear window.

There are a couple of ways to check whether the leak is coming form the cargo light, remove the inside cab light and you can see the cargo light from the inside, then test with the hose. Or place a piece of plastic over the cargo light and tape it down with duct tape and then do the hose test.

I've noticed water drops in my cab corners as well, I believe mine is coming in from the rear slider, it seams some of the sealing rubber pieces have shrunk and left small gaps at joints, I did pull back the rubber arouns the window a little and found some of the drains were partially plugged, cleaning these seams to have helped, I have not tried any repairs on the shrunk pieces yet
