thanks in advance for your help. what a great siteI have found fuel on the ground driver side. It seemes to be coming from the braided fuel line where it conects to the steal line but it is hard to tell. I have seen threads on return fuel line leaks but they are mostly talking rubber lines. Would this also cause blue or white smoke after it has been sitting a while. the truck starts great but has a miss in it till it warms up even if outside temps are in the 60s. Had new injector pump installed by dealer about 2000 miles ago. truck is 95 with 67000 miles on it. thanks and sorry for the long post.

Probably the rubber part of the fuel line. When mine leaked, it was running down the braided line as well. Fix the cheap one first. 3/8 return, 5/16 supply. Use diesel rated hose. I used marine on mine, which is an even higher standard (submersion in bilge, etc). I think the hose was about 18 inches. Will definitely give you the starting characteristics you mention. Good luck

A few tips on doing the job that might cut down on the paint peeling language. Remove the two nuts that fasten the master cylinder and lean it to one side. That will give room to work from the top. It's possible to do the whole job from the top, but it's a lot easier if you remove the starter to get room to work from the bottom too. Get some small sharp cutters and trim all the cut off ends of every tie wrap you can find anywhere near where you're working. No sense in donating blood to the job.
