Leak This

After I replaced my VP44 I have had problems with a few of the injector lines not seating and still leaking. I have tried to clean the surfaces the best I can but they are still leaking. It doesn't casue any problems it's just a very slow, oozing leak.

Has anyone experienced this?

Where are they leaking at ? at the Pump or Injector side? When i had to get some air out of the lines i started at the pump and worked my way up to the injectors. at least 1 of the lines was leaking on the injector side, tightened them up a little bit more and i was good to go.

They are leaking out of the threads of the nut that screws in to the block (the one the tightens the compression fitting). I am thinking now that it may be the o-ring on the injector tube.

Any thoughts? This is getting frustrating.....

As tight as I could get them; beleive it or not the spec on it is 35 ft/lbs. I was told by the diesel tech at the dealer it was either the O-ring on the injector tube or the tube was crushed. I am going to try the o-ring first and hope that it solves it.

I'm just surprised they'd leak there if they weren't disturbed...

I chased some leaks right there for a while and it ended up being the nuts that hold the lines to the injectors... I thought it was the o-rings because fuel was bubbling up from there. Turns out it was just residual fuel that had leaked down in there that was boiling off long after the leak was fixed by tightening the nuts.

I think you may be on to something Forrest; it's always the basic things I don't think of. I'll just have to keep an eye on it for now and not screw with it.
