My transmission has developed a leak. I have heard stories about a "quick connect fitting" leaking on a lot of other CTDs w/ automatic trannys. The truck just turned 78K. I have an appointment made at my local dealer with this being one of the problems. Is this covered under a factory recall? Is this an expensive repair (at the dealer)? Thanks.

Its a joke IMO, the lines are junk and the new "fix" is what should have been done in the first place. The new connectors and lines will cost around 225. 00 from the dealer, I think thats what I paid back then, but you will have no more problems. I used to just make my own new clips but the motor vibration just chews through them. Mine only leaked when they blew out but yours maybe different. I have a new transmission leak now see my recent post LOL fixing as we speak. Good luck bro. .

From my transmission being pulled so much by somebody that didn't know what they were doing caused one of the lines to rub up against an oil pan bolt and made a nice gash about an inch long. This simply happened because they didn't make sure the lines were properly secured away from vibrating or rubbing against something. Could go on more about what that somebody did but I'll keep it to the topic.

New lines from DC are about 50-60 bucks.
