Hello everyone...

Made the jump from a 2015 F350 dually power stroke to a 2015 Laramie Limited crew cab dually (Cummins / aisin 4.10). I've been wanting to do this for a couple of years, but the "voices in my head" kept talking me out of it. I finally said the heck with it and jumped in. This is primarily a tow vehicle for my 5th wheel (20,000ish pounds and 44 ft). My initial impressions are I like it... I like it a lot!! It's been a long time since I just look forward to driving a vehicle the way I do this RAM. I tows like a tug boat... steady and confident. The cummins actually sounds like a diesel should! Great combination of truck, luxury and technology.

Just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you for all of the open sharing that takes place in this community.... tons of friendly information to satisfy my research OCD.

Look forward to contributing.

Jay

Welcome and congratulations.....you made the right choice.:) I made the same leap 25 years ago and haven't looked back since. Enjoy!

6 in a row, made to tow! Welcome to TDR site! We bought the 8 year / 120K warranty of the one we took delivery of on Monday. SNOKING

Thanks Cummins12v98.
Yes, I have the factory rear air. Seems to do a pretty good job and it's nice that it's integrated with the truck.
I haven't had the axles weighed yet. I'm actually in the process of scheduling a trip to MORryde (Elkhardt, Indiana) to have independent suspension and disc brakes installed. I'm also looking to install a transferflow aux tank (leaning towards 75 gallon).

Unfortunately TransferFlow does not make a replacement tank for the RAM air ride trucks. Titan makes a 55 gallon replacement tank. Personally not into having a tank in the bed, just me.

Good call on the MorRyde system and the disk brakes you will love them!!!

A friend of mine over on CF (j4henry) owns a Cyclone similar to yours. Those are heavy TH's!!! We recently hit the CAT scales and truck & trailer grossed out at 26,000 empty. :--)

Just updating this thread with actual numbers from his CAT Scale Ticket :

Steer Axle : 5,220 lbs
Drive Axle : 7,600 lbs
Trailer Axles : 13,180 lbs

GCVW : Still 26,000 lbs

My curiosity got the best of me after your post. Stopped by local CAT scale and weighed truck (with full fuel and def) and then weighed with truck and empty 5th wheel (empty water tanks, empty fuel cells, empty garage).

Results for truck:
steer axle: 5,140
drive axle: 3,720
gross weight: 8,860

Result for truck and 5th wheel:
steer axle: 5,140
drive axle: 7,800
trailer axle: 14,380
gross weight: 27,320

I'll weight again in Nov when 5th wheel is completely loaded (full water tanks, full fuel cells and golf cart in garage)

You have lots of capacity left!

Interesting to see how the rear air ride does work. I have 1,780# sitting on the rear axle more than you in this pic but the ride height is the same.

Cummins12v98...
That's a beautiful Mobile Suites.... Looks great with your truck!
Nice to know the air ride will level the truck with a monster like that hitched to it.

It's odd (IMO) that the steer axle weight values did not change with the TH attached.
