Learned something the hard way

Call me stupid but I just found out that if you plug your truck in for three hours in a well insulated garage and then pop the radiator cap you can ruin an expensive REI jacket real easy.

I popped the cap and it really came out at me, not as bad as when its real hot of course but still more than you would think.

Better your jacket than your eyes. Glad you didn't get hurt. Why did you pop off the radiator cap?

Morning maitenance

It did not shoot out that high, just a big blurb. I changed my t-stat a couple weeks ago and had drained the radiator to do so. I wanted to top off the bottle to the full mark when the truck was cold so I could have a reference point for tracking minor coolant loss issues if they crop up (53 block, you know) Anyway I was suprised at how low the bottle was so I thought I had better have a look in the radiator, of course it was full to the gills.

I know better than to open a hot cap, just did not think the block heater would make it hot enough to belch.
