Happy Fourth of July to all!

Well we can't just ignore, Welcome Aboard! Good luck with the truck search, if you're patient and don't mind traveling for the right truck you'll find what you're looking for.

Welcome to the TDR Cuda'. Merrill Oregon... that brings back memories from many [50 plus] years ago when my father owned some property a little north of the city and we would make the trip from SoCal every year for the waterfowl opener on the Tule Lake refuge.

Moparguy, Thanks for the reply, I'm new to the Dodge Diesel trucks even though I have done work on the first generation before I retired from the Air Force in 2006. That is why I'm trying to stay with the 1st generation but the wife would like me to look into the 2nd generation because she likes the quad cab with opening rear doors which the 1st generation don't have. I'm concerned about getting into the computer controlled fuel systems of 2nd generation because so many have had the super chips added and I'm not looking for a hot rod. Plus I don't know how to tell if it has a chip or if it had one and then removed before being out up for sale. It would be great if I could find a nice early 1998 with the 12 valve engine that way the wife would be happy and so would I but they are hard to find in a short bed manual. I'm not beyond traveling to get the right truck. I see that you are into the Mopars also I have a 64 Barracuda 273 4speed and then a original 65 formula S automatic Barracuda. Currently the 65 is are daily driver and the 64 is what I'm hoping to make a mild hot rod out of by putting a 340 in it or a good warmed up 318. I have to have something to keep up with the daughters 66 Mustang & 69 Camaro plus the son has a 71 Charger but nice thing is they are all small block cars also. I'm 68 yrs old so most of my hot rodding days are over but still nice to play with the kids. I bet your Miata is dirty quick I've read a little about the V* conversion kits for them and they all say they will scare you.
Well thanks for the support. George

Boeing Diesel, Thanks for the welcome, I've lived here in Merrill since 1970 when I first got out of the military. went to work for Weyerhauser in Klamath Falls, then went back into the military when they started shutting down and retired in 2006. You wouldn't believe how the water fowl hunting has changed here. We don't get the birds we use to. I remember hunting on the firing line in the 70's when the sky would be black with the birds and now we get a few specks,& snows but not near the honkers we use to.
Have a Great Summer. George

Yeah the little Shelbized Miata is fun. I'm not declaring my age, but the 70 340 Duster in my sig,,,,I bought new :). It's the one under the cover that's currently acting like a storage shelf behind the Miata. I do love my A engine cars. Sold a 68 Barracuda convertible a couple years ago. Still kicking myself. The Miata below is my currenty project that I've just popped the engine back in with new AFR aluminum heads and a freshly detailed engine compartment with a mild wire tuck. Was home over the 4th and finished up the wiring, hooked up the fuel lines and fired it off. I'll take care of a few more details next trip and start driving it again.
