Guys,

I'm wondering what kind or what type of leather cleaner/conditioner you use on your trucks. I was also wondering how often you apply the treatments. Another thing is that my Father's 03 owner's manual states that the leather does not require any type of treatment and I'm wondering if it's better to treat the leather or just leave it alone. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

I would reccomend the use of Lexol (available at Genos ). I have been using it on my leather seats, dash and etc for years and it really does a nice job, and doesn't leave a sticky residue like some of the other products out there.

I generally do it about every other exterior washing, and yes I do reccomend you do something to maintain the leather and condition it.

Yup!

This is one time where I disagree with the owner's manual. To maintain leather in a like new condition, it needs to be periodically cleaned and conditioned.

I use Griot's Garage Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner. My '97 BR has 99K on the clock and the leather seats still look new.

I wipe mine down with a clean damp cloth every wash (weekly) and clean with Griot's every three months and then condition it then also.

Hope this helps!

I believe leather seats need a conditioner. They really tend to dry out if you do not treat them regularly. I treat the seats in the wife's car about every six months, but the car sits inside both at home and at work. I would treat the seats more often if it sat outside in the sun all the time.

I use Lexol, it really seems to work and gives the car a smell that I like.

Thanks guys for the feedback:cool:. You have convinced me to treat my parents seats. We have never had a vehicle with leather so this is pretty new to us.
