Who has a leather wheel in Black to fit a 97? Nothing seemed to keep mine from wearing through. Have about 8" of leather gone in one place. Called a place in Texas Monday that wanted $240 to re wrap it. Local salvage yard said they had some for $50. apiece and by the time I had time to go by there they had sold them all.
My bad I guess, but I was using Armorall on my wheel and it didn't stop the wear at the 10 o'clock position. I put one of these babys on, which, by the way, are good for another 10 + RWHP in case you didn't know
I tried a couple of differnet covers. My wife and I both have small hands and the cover increases the diameter of the wheel so much it make it very uncomfortable for either of us to drive, so they were removed.
I bought a black leather cover from an auto parts store, Pep Boys. If I remember correctly it was about $8. The leather was thin so it didn't increase the size of the wheel much, not like the padded covers. Took a while to get on because of all the threading. Looks just like the original, just make sure to get it on tight. Before I installed it I coated the original wheel with a leather conditioner.
I don't know, but I kinda like the feel of this cover. I was skeptical before I put it on, but now that I have some miles with it, I like it alot. I only wish that I put it one when the truck was new, to keep the wheel unscathed.
Nothing against the other wheel covers mentioned here, however, I installed the Wheelskins offered by Geno's almost two years ago and have been VERY pleased. Good luck!!
