Leave the DEFROST ON HOT

Here's a winter time tip for all if you that have a block heater: before you shut your truck off at night turn on the defroster and the temp control all the way to hot, make sure you feel hot air blowing out before turning the key off. Now plug your truck in and the next morning windshield will be mostly defrosted. :-laf

Mabey that works in TN or warmer climates but when its 10 or 15 below here Im happy if the windshield is ice free when I get to work

Just put the selecter in the recirculate position and that will thaw your windows a whole bunch faster. Works here.

I worked in Verona NY for 8 months and just recently returned, several mornings I literally plowed my way out of the drive... with no snow plow #@$%! I don't think it snows that much in Alaska :-laf

Not only can but does snow that much. In some places, they average more snow fall than almost anywere else in the lower 48.
