Quick question, how many pounds of boost do you think its safe to leave the line with. I have an 89% t. v from Dtt, and since i fried the clutches between 2nd and 3rd, that gave me an excuse to get all *3* billit shafts from Dave Goerend, . Its and auto and it was DTT everything, but now its not, all the bilit shafts are Dave's but the rest is DTT so its pretty beefy. thanks for you input. brian

More than likely, them billet shafts that you got from Dave Goerand came from the same place that DTT would have got them. Little known, the biggest part of the aftermarket auto trannies builders source their parts from the same places.

On boost, I'd reckon you could build all you could. Our play truck is very similiar equipped as yours and in 4wd w/ traction bars we can't build more than 20lbs or the truck starts moving :D Our brakes just won't hold it. Build away all the brakes will hold. WE do 20lb launches in ours and haven't broke the stock shafts yet.

Heck the Little Fat Kid can't even keep stock shafts in his truck when he's moving! :-laf :-laf

Had an ATS for a few years(Only because it was in the truck when we bought it). Upgraded HP levels and put in a Goerand Tight/Tighter converter, but it is too tight for our big single(Hx55). Sending it back to Dave to have it loosened up a bit. Put the ATS back in for now. Slushy, Slushy... . Dave's converter is sweet though! hated pulling it out! Just couldn't stall light the turbo with it in. Had to roll start it to get her to light. Having him loosen it up a few hundred rpms. Figure will break the shaft before long. Kinda testing for Dave to really see what it will take.

I like 15 psi. I've tried 20 and 25 psi but it's not very consistent at those levels. The only time I managed to get it to hook at 25 psi it pulled a 1. 66 60 foot but usually it just spins and I loose what I would have gained with the harder launch.

I've got the same converter..... mine is one of the first 5 or 6 Dave made. Mine stalls at about 1250. I have to be careful when I build boost... . It creeeeeeeeps to about 6psi, then it tries to TAKE OFF! I'm not running billet shafts yet... . so I don't like going over 10psi!

thanks alot guys for your input, i used to leave around 12psi with 1 billit shaft, i think im gonna try holding it 16-18psi for a good launch and keep it on the safe side. 1. 6 60 foot is really quick, i think the best one i ever cut was a 1. 8. thanks again

When I had my DTT trans I launched at 20 to 30 PSI untill I broke the second output shaft. :{ I now have a suncoast trans with the works including the flex plate and I launch at 40 PSI with no troubles at all and have not wiped out a clultch pack or any other part in the last three seasons. I get to the track at least 20 times per season with test and tune on Fridays and a few races on weekends. :-laf .
