Gang;

Does anyone know of anywhere I can get a kit to retro-fit LED Brake lights and maybe turn signals onto my 2000? The LEDs I'm starting to see on the semi-trailers sure are bright and fast.

I doubt you'll find a pre-packaged kit, but it wouldn't be too tough to find all the parts. The simplest way to do it would be to get drop-in replacement LED bulbs for your front and side turn signals, and also your stop-tail-turn bulbs. You'll also need an electronic flasher unit since the LEDs don't pull enough power to cycle the stock thermal flasher unit.

drop in LED's suck because they don't take advantage of the reflector housing. tried them on mine and sent them back.

LED Turnsignals

There is one little problem with LED turn signals in that they don't draw enough power and the flasher thinks a bulb is out and fast flashes. A varable load aftermarket flasher is not available. You would have to put a resistor in the system to fool the flasher.

One of our electronics Gurus will know what to do.

Midnite says you will need an electronic flasher to work properly. If that is the same as a heavy duty flasher, I agree. Heavy duty flashers will flash with or without bulbs working properly. They are best when you are adding trailer lights to your stock circuits in towing situations. Stock flashers either flash quickly or not at all, depending on model. Also, changing from heavy duty filament bulbs to standard duty bulbs and vice versa will cause slow or fast flashing.
