I'm sorry but we had a family health issue here and finally back to the computer again. 'brillmtb', I will be waiting for your comments after testing. My LED works extremely fine here, but in Tenn the land is rolling and hard to see what they will do at an extreme distance. In my area, the only flat land is what you grade flat. The LED's far exceed the halogen lights, and so much whiter, and I'm very happy with them. But I won't know until spring when I'll be traveling to see what they do in a very very open area. (I want to see what they will do between Gallup and Flagstaff, and is the longest, flattest streach I know.)

OK, I put in xtralights reflector LED and very displeased. I have tried to reach out to them but no answer, no return email. This issue is that they project a brighter light but shorter distance, looks ribbed rather than continuous and it seems the high and low are reversed in that when I hit high it fills in the lower part of the road looking out rather than beam further down the road. They look like completely stock headlight assemblys with the same reflective lens as stock with an LED bulb. I would have thought a whole redesigned lens would be needed since the LED project up, low beam, and down, high beam. I will see what xtralights rep has to say Monday but I'm afraid there is no fix for this. Stock with bright box seems better.

Sent the reflector LED lights back today. I am concerned in that I had a difficult time getting anyone at xtralights to call me back, get me an RMA number, etc. So I emailed, phoned and did everything I could to let them know what the issue was above. I think they threw LED lights in stock reflector housings. Since LED shine up and down unlike OEM front pointing LEDs/projectors I don't think this will ever work or they built the lights incorrectly and they carry a proper reflector. They promised to have tech call me back twice but never got the call. What do you want to bet that I will be calling my credit card company next to inform them?

Anyone have a projector HID or reflective or projector LED that they like? What brand. Thanks

WARNING

Xtralights is not someone you want to deal with. After attempting to get tech on the phone for days, promised call backs that never occurred and trying to return my LEDs as they don't work as advertised they are telling me they will charge a 20% restocking fee, I had to pay for shipping to get them back and they are defective in the first place and shouldn't even be resold. They should of least stated they needed to check them out to find out what was wrong or call me back.

I guess I will be calling my credit card company in the AM and the better business bureau

Well, having spent millions through my credit card company may have paid off. They are reversing charges, are concerned that despite my attempts to make this right that xtralights refused to talk to me. lights returned now I am gun shy on upgrades to my stock headlights. perhaps I will just add an led bar to the front and call it a day.

I'm not sure if you ever addressed the HID's as some of us has suggested. I am running them and they are like driving a Lexus plenty of lighting. The stock lighting will never do any better than a bright halogen bulb and anytime you retrofit a different light source the light get dispersed unevenly . remember the reflector has to be built around the light source. Look at the link BILTIT posted they are the real deal.

So do they make an LED that works as well as their HID. and I wonder about the 35 vs 50w HID in terms of getting other divers upset. I will call them next week.

If it's a true hid you won't have a problem blinding oncoming as its designed properly and is Dot approved.

I run the 50w projector hid. If you set the lights properly you wont have any issues with oncoming traffic except when hitting bumps or something that allows the lights to momentarily shine higher than the set position. I have been brighted on occasion but rarely.
