Take your time and read through this website. Lots of useful information.

I built a wire harness/relay setup for my lil 94 Toyota 4x4 pickup I bough a few months back. The headlight were terrible and so under powered. I could run the hi beams all night and oncoming traffic didn't even notice. The harness was super easy to build and install using Daniel Sterns website.

When I get some free time, I will research building a replacement harness for my 04 Dodge. Unless one of you guys beet me to it.

Depends on how serious you are, and whether or not you are willing to spend the time and money to do it right.

I installed these on my '03. They are true Bi-Xenons, and definitely were worth the time and effort. Lots of info out there on the install and necessary wiring procedures to do it right.

I realize you were asking about LED's, but to my knowledge, there is nothing out there that would be satisfactory, or would perform as well as a proper HID retrofit. The LED bulbs in an incandescent style housing is not the ideal solution.

Got HO? NICE set up on your truck. Which kit from the retro fit source did you use? The headlights in the '06-'09 are TURDS too. My '07 with the low beams set properly, the HIGH beams when turned on are up in the trees! That was the main reason I retrofitted my pitiful stock 35 watt fog lights with the old school 100 watt Per-Lux 200T's and set them up so they would stay on with the high beams.

Correct. I didn't say it was easy, it took some time. I did have to use relays and load resistors, and this was before many people had tried this. There were no plug and play kits or harnesses available and my harness was home made. But, I saw the results when people simply put HID's in the existing reflectors and the beam scatter was terrible. I had no issues with moisture because I used a heat gun to separate the lenses and heated them again to install them afterwards.

Bringing this one back to the top to see if anyone has tried the Lifetime LED replacement bulbs yet? If so, how about a report on the effectiveness vs stock, silverstars, or HID retrofits.

Thanks for that info guys, it seems there just isn't enough info & feedback out there yet. I'm not sure I want to be the guinea pig.

I will say that if you have the OEM projector head lights on the newer trucks, the HID's work well on low beam. I can adjust the head lights up or down and there is a definite horizontal line where there is light below and not above and is in the right range of distance so you can see as far as you need in low and not blind the oncoming traffic. I have NOT been getting "flashed" by oncoming traffic with the HID bulbs. Switch to high beams and wow! You can see the frogs in the ditch! Now like I said, this is with the factor projector style lights, not the regular ones. I've done the fog lights in HID as well and rewired thinks with a relay so that they stay on with the high beams.
So HID is not bad in all OEM light assemblies.
