I have three trailers with LED lights. All is fine with the trailer lighting when I tow them with my '07 CTD. Just bought an '08 Dakota as a work truck. (Still have the CTD). Plugged one of my trailers into the Dakota and no lights on the trailer. Took it back to the dealer and was told that the LED lights (2 Stop/Tail/Turn and one center brake light) I mounted on the lightbar confused one of the Dakota's computers--- causing it to disable power to the trailer lighting circuit. They reset the computer, but said that it could only be reset three times before it would have to be replaced. The only solution they could suggest was to replace the LEDs with incandesent bulbs. I emailed Dodge customer Service--- they suggested I talk to my dealer (I have) and give me the 800# purchase a serviced manual-----what great help!
I should also note that the ARE cap on the CTD has a LED high mounted brake light and it's computer doesn't seem to be confused. Anyone have thoughts/experience with this problem?
