Are the bulbs in the lic plate holder LED they look like white LED but not sure, if so are you happy with the illumination? What pattern did you use and which manufacture?

No, they are factory lights.

The only LED's I have on Ghost Rider are the running lights under the doors and the mudflaps.

I've swapped all my running lights to L. E. D. 's, mostly cause I had so much trouble with those little bayonet bulbs losing contact and not lighting. Secondary benefit is lowering the load the lighting placed on the system. Been trying to find a conversion for the turn and brake lights but everything so far has hyperflashed. I'm told I need to install some kind of load equalizer to get them to work. Does it make sense to change to L. E. D. 's then add a resister to get them to work. To me seems counter productive to what I'm trying to achieve. I burn my lights, truck & trailer, most all the time running or not.

Cheers,

Steve J

you are correct in that you need to run a resister, it is not necessarly counter productive becuase you are only disapating a small amount of energy vs. a bunch of bulbs so it is still a load advantage the ECM is simply looking for resistance to think a bulb is present. I found These LED Replacment Lights after readin around here and they are pretty cool just not sure when I will be able to afford them.

As a matter of fact, yes I was. I have read that some Helo's were brought in and I remember those. What I do not read about was the squadron of F-106 Delta Wings that arrived and were still there when I left. The UFO's must have been a little faster than a Helo could go. The 70 below chill factor with the wind blowing on the flightline and seeing only the tops of the power poles on the way to work (after the plows got done) are etched in my mind. I visited there in 2k. Brought tears to my eye's knowing how it was when I left and what it has sunk to now. Beautiful state your in.

Dave

Of course you are welcome back any time! I haven't been to Tempe but I've seen pictures. Very beautiful.

So, the UFO story is true. You are the first credible person to tell me that, thanks. Too bad the F-104s weren't on duty when the UFO showed up. I wonder if cannon holes would have changed its aerodynamic properties. :)

Some night time pics...

I was Pm'ed and asked for some night photos and so here are a couple it is raining and windy so I did no go for that "perfect shot, I will do some new ones later.

The other pic is of my center console light and cup holder retrofit... More LED's

I ran into the same problem when I customized my motorcycle. The turn and brake lights hyperflashed. Instead of adding a resistor to put more load on the system I opted to add more LED's to compensate for the load lose. It worked and my ride is more tricked out :D

better side profile shot

It was raining and gloomy today so I thought this pic turned out pretty good for an idea what the side LED's look like...

I'm surprised we haven't seen more 'chicken lights' on the rocker panels. They can look kinda nice if they're done in moderation I think.

don't tempt anyone!

I am not one for cutting holes in sheet metal everything that I haev done on this truck can easily be replaced with relativly minor costs, you start hacking the metal and it gets expensive quick...

They all look good.

but where can I get some new tail lights for my 02?

I broke one (hit by the mirror of a f 150) and I would like to replace them with some kind of LED ones.

thanks
