Hmmm, I wonder. Is the fuel rail different on an '11 model or different source for the part? I would guess it is a part manufacturer problem.

Mechanic said he hasn't had issue with the regular pickups just the C&Cs. Will ask if the part number for the rail is the same for both today.

Fuel rail pressure relief valve part number is the same on all the 6. 7 engines since 07. Best we could tell they were all made in the Czech Republic. Any way truck is repaired and seems to be fine.

Thanks for the update. Cummins may have a new source for that part.

Mike Wilson who is parts manager at a big Freightliner dealer in Maine just posted in another thread that many small manufacturers who supply parts to the big manufacturers are failing in the bad economy.

UPDATE: Truck left me stranded again. Changing the fuel rail relief valve helped performance of the truck greatly but apparently had nothing to do with the die and no start problem. Dealer plugged in and monitored the truck but just doesn't know what is wrong and I don't have time to fool with it. Was really ticked when I dropped it off and threatened to buy a Ford, even went and drove one. Came to my senses as soon as I raised the hood. The threat was enough for my dealer to offer me a very good trade deal so I'm now out of a c&c and back in a regular pickup. I tried to order a 12 but when I would add something I wanted it would kick out something else, so we located a 11 as close to what I wanted that we could find and I got it. I will update again if they figure out what is wrong with the old truck.
