I'm experiencing the left side of my truck bed bouncing while driving on freeway with expansion joints. I can watch the tailgate bounce about 1 inch when driving 55mph. Over 65mph is goes away. First I thought it was out of balance tire, so rebalanced and rotated. Then I thought maybe shocks, so I switch my Bilseint shocks from right to left. It still bounces but only on the left side, does anyone have any ideas.

weird. but i would at least check to make sure all the bed bolts are tight. i had a bed bolt come loose on me on my dodge dakota once. just an idea.

My boy used to build a shaker that would move french fries and potato chips up hill by vibrating a piece of metal..... some of these were 20 to 30 ft long... . I found that if set up the right harmonics (sp) and vibration from an out of balance flywheel you make table vibrate and move items up hill..... All this technology is over my head... but the jest of my comments is that when you hit those joints in the highway at a certain speed... . your setting up the same kind of harmonics and its making your truck shake...

The same truck sitting right beside you might or might not have the same problem... . my boy found that if they tuned the leaf springs or coil spring on their machines... . they could increase the flow, stop it... . or reverse it... based on the spring rate... . you might have something that won't go away until you change the spring on that side... its in the engineering... . or the error in spring rate I'm GUESSING in that spring... .

Hope this helps. .

Have someone follow you down the road and watch your wheels, etc.

This is the only way your going to figure out whats happening.

dont know if this helps but the bushing on the front left bed bolt was missing on my 06. i found it stuffed in the frame support/ bed brace.

You didn't say in your post how you rotated the tires but when you balanced them did you watch to see that they were relatively round? You can balance a small truck tire with enough weight even if its out of round, but you can never make it ride properly. Also, it's possible that you could be having a belt separation that doesn't show up at the slow speeds they use when balancing the tire, but at highway speeds tries to pull away from the body plies. Thats what's happening on heavy truck tires you sometimes hear "slapping" the highway as they roll down the road.
