Any ideas?

If I corner hard left it makes a pop or bang noise like a rubber mallet hit the floor.

PS I went to the Dealer all pumped up and happy and took tech for a test drive (he looked like the tow truck driver from the comedy movie NEIGHBORS) and from the first glance I could tell we could never be pals. Very sloppy and farted in the truck. He had no wedding ring and I was sure it wasn't so he could cheat on his wife, he was a crude dude. He argued with every idea I presented about why I wanted to do the fronet end to GENO's specs. He gave me a lecture on automatic "transitions" and did at least agree that mine shifted 600 RPM late always. He 'fixed' it and now it shifts like it is full of mayonaise. I am ready to ditch the morons at the dealership and get a book and do it all just like I had to on the PSD. Hell I replaced HP oil pumps tendem pumps, clutches,relays... thats why I got rid of the Fix Or Repair Daily because I was. I bought new so I could have a nice ride and wax it. Now I can see that the **** matches with the dealer only ruin my gains in stress management. I really want to hurt Dealer people. . OK I am back Man they **** me off. Anyone know a good Dealer (Sevice Oriented!) that will work with me. . Hell I even offered the goof I test drove with extra cash... what an idiot!!!!!!!! Anywhere within within 100 miles of Newark Delaware.

I usually travel to Philly / Valley Forge / Southern Jersey area (exit 4 and south NJT) during my usual work rounds. Hell I'll drive to Florida if there is a Dealer with at least one guy that doesn't get bananas instead of cash!

If I offend anyone here that works for a dealer I am sorry , it is aimed at the incompetent and if you are here you most likely have enough interest to do the job right.

Sounds like a real loser

Man where did they get that dude from?:rolleyes:I feel for you man. Hope you have better luck finding someone that knows what the **** is going on.

jringler, the steering shaft is a common cause of the pop in the front end. Lube the joints in it under the hood and try it again. The track bar is another likely suspect but on a truck as new as yours I would bet it is in the steering shaft. Hope this helps.

Does it more now. Have an appointment with dealer. Does it even when stopped turning wheel left to right. I don't normally do this but I want to recreat this with a delaer tech near.

I am getting annoyed at what are just little silly things that noone can seem to fix. If they can't do these lttle things how can they be trusted to say replace an oil pump or a head?

It's getting old at 3000 miles I have more problems than I started with. These aren't as bad as the PSD's . . are they?

Thanks Phil and LSMITH!

Wow, sorry to hear that it is worse. If it is doing it going both ways on the wheel you are going to get a trackbar and/or tie rod end/s. The drag link from the steering box or the steering box itself is also a cause but lots less likely. When I got the new steering box put in mine they did not torque the bolts properly and I got a worse popping noise than when I took it in after about two weeks. My confidence in them was gone at that point and I found it and fixed it myself. It is enough to really make you mad. At least I went 30K before the front end was needing work.

I will get flamed I am sure, but our trucks are every bit as bad as the Fords, we just don't have the engine trouble they do. The truck around our engine leaves quite a bit to be desired.
