I found a 92 le at reg cab pretty rough was a work truck all it's life and will continue to be one if i get it only alot cleaner and taken care of. I'm 6'2 300 lbs and sitting in it seems like my knee will get cramped up quick. The brake pedal is more towards the driver than the throttle pedal and to put on the brake i have to bend my leg back . My 97 Ford Reg cab is alot more comfortable. I had a 75 Powerwagon 4speed and don't recall it being this uncomfortable. The cab is roomy it is just the leg room problem will be a bother on long nights plowing. . What do fellow "BIG" :-laf 1st gen owners do to deal with this??? Thanks in Advance BOB

me being 7 ft tall I had a crewcab so leg room was good for me but what I also did was use a second gen seat they set up higher so it makes it easier .

I have been able to move the seat back by drilling new holes. Even 2-3" makes a big difference in leg room. I have done this on a 1988 & 1992 D350 regular cab

1stGen benches are close on leg room in any cab setup. I am only 6-1, but I have a 36" inseam, so it can get crowded for me. One reason I am keeping my exended cab with the captain's chairs- I actually have to move the seat forward from the rear a click or two.

I'm 6'2" 200lbs and the regular cab is marginal on room all around. I've got a power seat from a Caravan in mine. Both leg room and head room are just barely adequate. The stock bench was too low for adequate leg room. I've had a club cab in the past and with a bench it just had enough leg room.

Thanks for the ideas. I sat in 91-93 reg cab that had a aftermarket bench in it and that was no help. Maybe a swap to factory club cab buckets might help. I don't like the look of seats that don't belong in a truck if you know what i mean ;). My 97 was the most comfortable truck i owned and the leg room was outstanding but i think the 2nd gen seats will be too big and make less room. Thanks again BOB

i have a 2000 rt (mid-size) that has way more leg room than the '92 ctd. the rt is an extra cab and the ctd is reg. i heard on here that for some reason you can drive these first gen trucks more miles in a day w/o feeling as worn out

i dont know... . i drove the RT from L. A. to houston. left 1 pm fri afternoon and got there sat mornin. drove from houston to witchata ks sat nite and tried to drive back to L. A. sunday. (had a meeting i had to be at in newport beach at 8 mon nite). i didnt make it thru sun nite, had to stop in new mexico and get a room and a few hours sleep. left monday mornin and got to newport at 7:50pm. hope i never have to do that again. 3k+ miles in a weekend. i have not tried to drive this 1st gen like that but i think what that fella said is true. i drive all night to the races sometimes and dont feel that bad. once the sun comes up anyways... . lol

I thought that also that once i fire up the mighty Cummins i will forget about all the discomforts and ailments of a practically 35 year old truck design:D. I recall reading in a Muscle Car magazine that the Roadrunners and other Mopars in their day were terribly uncomfortable basically a taxi cab interior with difficult to use shifters but when the gas pedal was put to the rubber mat ;) everything was forgotten but a permagrin and girlish laugh and it was like in heaven... . I was born 20 years too late:rolleyes:. Now the tough part is going to be getting the CTD by the wife  . Going to be pretty tough with a Baby on the way :-{}:-{}!!!
