A friend of mine has some issues with a neighbor - in a residentail setting. Thye installed a Camera that watches their fence line - which looks into their back yard - somewhat - NOT their house. They just received a letter from their Attorney that they must take the camera down within 5 days or they will be sued..... Other than getting an attorney which is what I guess one should do - WHAT are your thoughts..... I might add that apparently the neighbors are very picky and have told them that they have been throwing dog feces and leaves into their yard... . WHICH they swear they haven't done. They don't have a dog even. The neighborhood has a huge 4th fireworks party - which these folks don't participate in . and afterwards they clean their yard and throw all the debris into these folks back yard..... They had the local police over and complained about the camera - they told them they feel threatened... ..... and they recommended they take it down!!!!! Can you believe that you can't PUT UP A CAMERA!!!

I would think as long as it is NOT looking at their house, they should be OK. However, it might go to court to prove it is OK, which is BS!!!

If someone put a camera into my yard I would give them a show they wouldn't forget. Not because I would feel threatened, but because it's just plain none of their friggin' business what I do.

And I would put their camera where the sun don't shine. Or paintball the lens under the cover of darkness.

Of course I don't throw crap into my neighbor's yard so I guess it's a moot point.
