I love my '04 but for the headrests which interfere with the brim of my hat. I know, human vanity is a funny thing, but all the same I was wondering if anyone knows whether it's legal to remove the headrest to solve this problem. This is the first truck I've ever had with headrests, so I figure if I've made it this far by living dangerously, I don't mind continuing the practice.
I live in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornya, and would like to know if anyone knows if the tax collectors in the black and white cars will stop me and shake some $ out of me if I'm found driving down the highway with..... shudder at the thought... a removed headrest.
Also, as I get around a bit, would this cause problems in any other states such as NV, ID, MT, WY, TX, AZ, NM?? If someone tells me that it is an illegal practice in the great states of Montana or Texas I will be very disappointed.
Finally, does anyone know of a replacement headrest that is not as tall?
Thanks in advance,
Bryan
