hunting in illinois??

I recently bought a used '00 s-10 xtreme, with a 4. 3l v-6. Seemed like a good truck so I bought it. 3 days went by and the water pump broke in half. :( The dealer where I bought it from fixed it for no charge, but got me to wandering. I looked the rest of the truck over and noticed it had been wrecked. The air-box is still broke and so is the fan shroud, and a blade has a nick out of it on the fan. Today, on the 25, I have owned the truck for 27 days and really would like to get rid of it or see if the dealer could be forced to keep it. It pulls to the right real bad and there are numerous other things wrong. But it is used and I live in Illinois, is there anything I can do?

Pull a car fax on it and check it's history for starters. Did it have a clear title to begin with or is it a salvage title?

Check your laws on disclosure on vehicle sales. IF you were'nt informed that it was wrecked and the dealer knew about it then you might be onto something. as far as a lemon goes, i believe it must be on the factory warranty and i believe the same problem has to show up three times without being fixed (like a transmission going bad three times, it obviously is not fixed if it keeps breaking). Did you buy it "as-is" or was is sold with a warranty. Did the dealer sell it originally and did they do the repair from the wreck. These are things I would check. Can you call the old owner, that should be available to you. That would get you all the info you need.

The water pump broke again for the 2nd time is the main reason why I am upset. It was also bought with a 50-50 waranty on the drive train. It was bought buy them at one of those car dealer auctions also, so no real way to find out about the other owner?!. It has been hot by me twice already I hope that it doesn't hurt it...

If one of the fan blades has a nick in it then the assembly will be out of balance. This will cause the water pump bearings to fail in very short order.
